Dr. Caleb Hing - Biographical Information

Dr. Caleb Hing earned his Ph.D. (with emphasis on NDE testing using GPR and IRT on FRP Bridge Decks) from West Virginia University in 2006. His research has led to several published technical reports, conference papers, and journal submissions. Dr. Hing is a reviewer of the Bridge Engineering Journal Special Edition published by American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

Dr. Hing is currently employed by Michael Baker Jr., Inc. (located in Arlington, TX). He is a member of the ASNT North Texas Section. Dr. Hing serves in several technical and professional committees within Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of ASCE. He is a committee member of SEI's National Technical Program and ASTM's E07 Nondestructive Testing. He is also an adjunct faculty at The University of Texas at Arlington.

The presentation will focus on two of the many NDE methods employed by the transportation sector: GPR and IRT. The intention of the presentation is to shed light on the use of GPR and IRT in highway bridge inspection, as well as information on recent government funded NDE projects for highway structures.
