Bell Helicopter Plant Tour
Our first meeting of the 2017 - 2018 year will be a plant tour of Bell Helicopter. The plant tour will include pizza at the facility. The details of the tour are as follows:
–Thursday, Sept 21st @ 6pm
–3255 Bell Helicopter Blvd, Ft Worth, TX 76118
–Pizza will be provided
–Tour will run from approximately 6 to 8:15 pm.
For security reasons, the following requirements must be met:
•All attending must be US Citizens
•Attendees must pre-register
email Robert Mohrman with your name(s) and company affiliation, so that you can be added to the attendee list. This email must be sent by Sept 19th.
•Attendees must bring a valid ID (driver's license) to pass through security
October 17th - Tuesday
This meeting will be led by our new chairman, Dale Norwood and we will be discussing any and all NDT topics that are posed. In particular, Dale has just returned from his meeting of the NAS 410 committee and he is prepared to discuss the current state of the NAS 410 specification.
Speaker - Clint Grant, who is in charge of the newly forming NDT school at Tarrant County College, is going to join us to bring us up to date on the state of this venture.
Clint is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Aviation Technology. He also obtained an MBA in Business Finance from the University of North Texas. Clint has taught avionics courses and has been with TCC as an instructor and a coordinator since 2000.
The re-birth of an NDT program in the Fort Worth area is an exciting and much needing thing. This meeting will give all of us an opportunity to hear what is happening and how we might be a part of it.

Speaker: Chris Woodard - Carestream NDT
Topic: Evolution of Digital Industrial Radiography
Chris Woodard is a graduate of Texas A&M Dwight Look School of Engineering and Masters of Science in Data Science candidate at Southern Methodist University. Chris has been with CarestreamNDT for 5 years working as the Southwest Regional Sales Manager. He works with customers to meet their imaging needs by training and supplying film, chemicals, CR and DDA systems. Previously, Chris has worked in business development and engineering facets within bulk material flow, eddy current/UT/PT, and HVAC.

We will be having a mexican Christmas feast! They will be serving nacho and beef chimichanga appetizers. The main course will include enchiladas and beef & chicken fajitas. The cost will be $5.00 per person

Speaker: Michael Chin - SPACEX
Topic: A look at the many exciting things going on in the engineering world of Spacex
Bio: Mr. Chin has been with Spacex for three years where he is currently the commodity Manager of Special Processes.
Mr. Chin has a BS in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science from UC Berkeley and an MS in Materials Science from UCLA.
He is currently in process on his PhD in Materials Science from UCLA.
